Bury & District Quiz League Week 1

Welcome one & all to the new season, we are finally up & running & I\\\'m sure it will be as fun, thought provoking & competitive as always & with the prospect of a few Banana Skins along the way!!

As question master last night, I thought it was a very evenly matched set of questions & a rather tough start to shock us into action.... Then the scores start to arrive & make a mockery of my judgement.

St Marys shot out of the blocks & registered a massive 60 points against Ramsbottom British Legion (RBL) who didn\\\'t. I can only assume they offered up numerous bonuses along the way, as they struggled to make any impression in a game which only relinquished 28 points to the visitors.

With a huge aggregate of 107 points, the game of the night was without a doubt, The Shoulder vs Stopes Cricketers. Not sure how the scoring panned out, but a potential early season 6 pointer as the reigning champs laid down a challenge to their closest rivals & nicked valuable points.

Ditto for the Hare & Hounds at the Dungeon, another impressive tally & Ian & his merry men banged in 56 points for a comfortable win.

Our game was evenly matched throughout, although low scoring by comparison at 6 rounds in it was finely balanced, before we made a late dash to the line for a slender 5 point victory.

Realistically it will be Tuesday evening each week before I get round to updating the site, so please be patient. If anyone would like to cobble up a match report, if it is e-mailed to me by Tuesday evening, I can include it in my warblings.
