SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
Evening folks & a Happy New year to one & all.!!
I was otherwise disposed at a Bowling AGM this week, so no idea if the quiz was set evenly, or a game of 2 halves?? The Roses put in valiant effort againt the leagues joint Top Dogs & pushed them all the way, but would lose out to an impressive 52 points to 45. The Hairy Hounds were still under the influence of excessive Xmas over-indulgence, as they hit the buffers & succumbed to a resurrgent St. Mary's team who have so far failed to find any consistency, a good win for Alec & co 47-42 RBL "B" are finding it tough going & I am willing them on to their 1st win........its a pity the Dungeon A were not feeling the seasonal goodwill, as they piled on the points to run out very healthy winners at 25-48 & so to the final bout of the evening, in the Blue corner the Shoulder of Mutton & in the Red corner RBL "A" & Jason assures me the score line is flattering & after 7 rounds they were in danger of taking a 12th round KO.......Rd8 was not to the Leg Irons liking & they failed to add to their total & allowed the visitors to record a 7 point victory, 55-48. I must mention that the Legion scored the equivalent of a 9 Dart check-out in scoring a maximum 16 points in Rd6, a very rare beast indeed, take a bow Margaret, Susan, Carl & AN Other, brilliant. No change at the top then, week 14 could be an intersting encounter!!! |
