SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
Well then, assessing the scores it was a a low scoring week by recent standards & close scoring meant most games could have gone either way.

The St Marys were up against the resurgent Shoulder & it was knock for knock throughout the game & the visitors took a slender 3 point lead into the final round.....only to hit the rocks & care of 2 blanks, handed a hard fought 2 points to Jason & Co & they collectively wiped their sweaty brows & extremely hard luck to St Marys, almost in sight of killing off Shoulders title aspirations!!!

The Cricketeres are the runaway leaders & are bang on form as they posted the highest score of the night with a very respectable 47 to a valiant 39 from RBL. Definitely a game of 2 halves, RBL trailed by 15 at the half way stage, but amassed a huge 29 points to 22 in the second half. Hard luck Margaret, your score of 39 would have beat the in-form Hairy Hounds, its not fair is it!??!?

Ian & the Hounds certainly played their Joker tonight to continue their impressive run & the Dungeon Boys must still be kicking themselves as they held their own throughout & this is one that definitely slipped through their fingers.
In one of the lowest scoring 1st halves in memory, the Dungeon held a 2 point lead at 12-10, with both teams drawing a blank in the stick or twist. The 2 part Rd would prove pivotal, with the Hounds amassing 11 to only 6 from Pete & Co & they had a 4 point lead, which was enough to see them cling on to add another 2 points to over the final 2 rounds & secure their 3rd placed league position.

Unfortunately, due to work commitments & the Gaffers birthday, once again the Roses were short handed & played 3 handed up at the Dungeon. Our ploy of getting the sympathy vote from Mike, Sue, Bruce & Tony certainly paid off in the 1st half, as we elected to go 1st & piled on the points after a faltering 1st Rd & held a comfortable 7 point lead 22 - 15 at the break.

The Dungeon bounced back & it was even Stevens at 32 a piece after Rd 6 & it was game-on!! The individual rounds proved to be the foundations of our defiance & Rd7 added another 7 points to the 8 in Rd2 & gave us a 5 point cushion going into the last Rd.

After 3 questions it was reduced to a single point at 40-41 to The Roses & the game hinged on the last question & we pinched a bonus to record our second 3 handed win of the season, which only goes to prove too many Cooks spoil the Broth, as we must talk ourselves out of so many points...

The top 4 battle it out against each other next week, could there be a shock on the cards as we reach what would have been the final game of the season without the change in format.

Will the additional 7 games prove to be the survival of the fittest?? Can the Cricketers maintain their impressive form?? Watch this space!!!
