PHIL'S COMMENTS
Week 14

All teams have been in action this week, or from the multiple comments fed-back to me about the poor standard of questions and answers, lulled into a state of inertness and reaching for the migraine pills. Average scores were well below standard and it was no surprise, with most teams even struggling to top twenty at the half way point.
Game of the week was difficult to pick this week but the game played at Rose and Crown Rammy who had the Swan and Railway B visiting just has it. Sue, Margaret and Martin excelling and Peter Taylor playing like a full Australian Dunny apparently for the home side. The score 42-33 has the Swan B's sinking fast at the moment.
Just pipped for the game of the week, was the in-form Rose And Crown Bury hosting the Sun Dial in a not surprising on the night low scoring affair - the Sun Dial just missing out yet again 37-35.
Swan and Railway A had the Stopes Tavern visiting and the post match comments were that everyone had lost the will to live - even Mavis's tonic was no use on the night with the Taverners stealing the win 26-36.
Radciffe Cricket Club had the Pack Horse visiting and Phil Dodd's men overpowered an improving Pack Horse side 47-32. The Cricketers are creeping ever closer to the top spot on points scored.
Final match this week had Heap Bridge Social Club hosting Rose and Crown Starling with Neville Chadwick back for the home side along with Derek Lord, Neil Jones and Steve. The Phoenix lads had the leaders in trouble at the half way point and it was only the pass over points in the second half that won the match for the Rose Stlg. Wally almost blew it for the champs when he stated Eye-ore as the melancholy donkey in Animal Farm and Kieran Goldsbrough is sporting a wife-fitted saucepan for missing the River Tees answer for top points.
With all players and supporters feeling as if they had been in a hard fought boxing match not a quiz match at the end of the night, post match questions will be asked of the setters.

Week 15.
With last week's marathon hopefully consigned to history, this weeks matches all look to be close on paper. Match of the week looks to be Swan B hosting The Cricketers. If Enid gets the Swan boys in order, this derby match could be a close affair. However Phil Dodd will want to gain every point possible on the night for the league title chase. An away win is the probability but it may be nip and tuck. The Pack Horse have the Rose Bury visiting. Sorry Sue, the only way I can see The Pack winning is to ply the visitors with drink, which is not beyond the realms of possibility, as the Rose lads like a nice pint or two at a good watering hole. Stopes Tavern have the Phoenix nights' former Water Rats visiting, and if the form book holds Phil Gardner's home side will find it tough. Barrie will make a comeback for the visitors, after thankfully, he said, missing the last match. Sun Dial play host to Swan A. If the Sun Dial are back to strength, Mavis's tonic will have to work wonders but this one could go down to the wire again Eunice. Final match of the week has Rose Stlg hosting Rose Rammy, a very close contender for match of the week. The Rose Stlg will be wanting to avenge the earlier away defeat and they have to win to keep up the title race but Rose Rammy will be sure to put up a good fight again. Hard to predict on recent form!!!!
