SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
Week 15 of the quiz all teams scored well but the losing teams not as much as they would have liked, maybe the Gilbert & Sullivan round had an influence? At the Shoulder of Mutton they hosted their near Neighbours Ramsbottom Cricketers The Shoulder ended up with the local Bragging rights by a 16 point margin meanwhile over at The galloping away league leaders Coach & Horses they did not have it all their own way, out of the 8 rounds of questions 7 were neck & neck with only a 9-3 margin in the individuals giving victory to the Coach by 9 points! at the battle of The Rose & Crowns the Starling branch were never behind and ran out winners by 18 points despite losing the 4 point rounds St Mary's lost to what seems like a rejuvenated Royal side who scored the second highest points total of the night to beat St Mary's by 15 points Finally at The Stopes their guests were those Dogged Quizzers The Hairy Hounds, Stopes set off in front and managed to keep in front partly due to Roger Bolts's knowledge of the medical term for flatulence who said an ill wind? however at the last round being 9 points in front Stopes started to collapse like the week previously however despite a strong attempt by the Hounds Stopes held on to record their second win of the season by 6 points!
