SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
Well it was normal service tonight with a massive 25 points separating the highest & lowest scores, strange old game innit!!
Two Topsy Turvey weeks for the Hairy Hounds, as last week they just scrapped home against the leagues strongest team RBL B & tonight they go & confound the pundits by pulling off the shock result, beating the Stopes Cricketers 49-47. The 2 teams shared the spoils in the 1st round. Rd2 saw the Hounds take a 2 point lead & that my friends is how the game progressed for the next 6 rounds, the Stopes just failing to muster any headway & eat into the narrowest of deficits. A real kick in the Ghoulies for Phil & Co as I am sure they no know the hill they had to climb has suddenly changed to something more Everest like!!! A mile away up the hill, the Shoulder entertained the Dungeon & they showed their class by piling on the points to register a very healthy 56 to 37 win & I'm sure the Bookies have stopped taking bets on the title race as with only 6 games to go, their 4 point lead looks unassailable....although I'm sure Phil & Co may have other idea's Yet again the Roses struggled to get out of 1st gear, squad rotation certainly isn't working in our favour & Alecs hastily assembled squad came good, as his daughter Claire proved to be their trump card as they cruised to a comfortable 33-42 win. It was a very local Derby down at the Legion, as A took on B. Margarets ever improving team, showed no mercy to the newcomers & revelled in tonights offering, to cross the winning line a full 17 points clear. Time is running out & the League Table has a very familiar look to it at the top & bottom. Stranger things have happened, is there a Leicester out there waiting to rain on the Shoulders Parade......... |
