SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
Well the shock of the night was up at the Holcombe Brook, where the Cricketers suffered an unwelcome defeat at the hands of the Hairy Hounds & put a massive dent in their attempt to chase down the run-away leaders The Shoulder. What was equally surprising was the Cricketers drawing a blank in Rd 4, when in a heavily weighted set of questions in favour of whoever went 1st, it was the easiest full house for a long while. Another strange anomaly was they didn't accrue 1 single bonus point, looks like one to forget & the Hounds basked in the glory of a 6 point win, well played the Hounds!!!
RBL A are back on track & they showed no mercy against the valiant RBL B seeking their 1st win, charity was thin on the ground as they romped home by a massive 22 point margin. There was close to bu**er all between us, the visitors went 1st & made the most of the wind on their backs & filled their boots in Rd4 to our zero, it was essentially game over, but well played Alec, Brian, Harry & Claire who battled through the pain barrier as she hobbled in on crutches!!! Its business as usual up at the Shoulder, although by their recent high standards, it was a relatively low scoring game for them, only registering a measly 53 points. There's a definite sense of Deja Vu at the top of the table, as the Shoulder keep a firm grasp of the Winners Cup & show no signs of relinquishing it any time soon!!! |
