Week 2 Match report
Some surprising results across the board, standing out is the close run match at the ever improving Sundial, where the Cricket Club just managed to grab the win on the last question. The Rose and Crown Bury bounced back from their loss against the champions in week one to register a fine win against Stopes. But what has happened at the Pack Horse? Last year's runners up registered a second consecutive loss against a Rose and Crown Ramsbottom side who must have been smarting at their first week loss against a side containing a former player. The Swan B keep up their good start against Heap Bridge who look again to have the travel jinx. The Rose and Crown Starling won against a spirited Swan and Railway A team for whom the ladies starred with Julie and Mavis having leading roles. The Rose had a middling game but an entertaining night was had by all. All league teams report the stinker round being the Stick or Twist Round. Next Monday's fixtures have produced a number of intriguing matches with the pacesetters Radcliffe Cricket Club and Rose and Crown Starling facing each other in an early season clash. Resurgent Rose and Crown Bury play the unbeaten Swan B side. Heap Bridge play the other unbeaten side Sundial. Swan and Railway A are up against the Pack Horse. Can these two sides bounce back? Rose and Crown Ramsbottom play Stopes Tavern which could go either way. Reminder to get the subs to me asap. |
