Bury & District Quiz League Week 2

The question setters have got it spot on again this week with a varied & evenly matched set of questions, which saw the average score nudging the high 40\\\'s

It was a Ding-Dong Do down at the Rammy British Legion as the hosts entertained the Dungeon A. In a nail-biter which in the absence of a scoresheet (you can always take a photo & whatsapp or Messenger it to me FOC) I\\\'ll assume it was a last question buttock clencher!! & it went the way of the visitors who won 45-43

Dave Russell & his Merry Men threw another log on the fire & welcomed the Shoulder of Mutton into the cosiest venue in the league. Unfortunately, their hospitality went unrewarded as the Shoulder again flexed their collective muscles & registered another 50 point + tally as they crusied to a comfortable 54 - 31 win

After an unconvincing start last week, the new kids on the block The Stopes Roses ventured upto the H&H & as always a warm welcome awaited. Two rounds in & the Hairy Hounds are leading 16-11 assisted by a 9 point individual round. We bounced back with some inspirational guess-work & trailed by a single point at the half way stage 24-23

The visitors, Ann, Linda, Terry & Moi gained in confidence & with a second half of sublime quality!!! we forged ahead at round 6 c/o two 4 pointers & we never looked back. In an excellent game, superbly refereed by the uber-impartial Jill, we widened the gap to run out 52 - 44 winners & the Pasta Bake was bl**dy delicious....

Meanwhile over at the Stopes, the Cricketers took on last weeks high flyers St. Marys & this was as expected a close encounter of the quiz kind. Another game which went to the wire & St. Mary\'s are showing great early season form & cement their place at the top of the league care of another impressive points tally as they just edged out Stopes 52 - 50.

PS: I\'d like an indication on numbers from each team attending the Xmas Soire, as the most important job of the night is ensuring everyone gets a Pie!!

Could I have numbers by 21st November please.
