Bury & District Quiz League Week 20

Credit where it is due, I don't often blow our own Trumpet, but every Dog has its day & Monday night belonged to a resurrgent Stopes Roses. The Stars were perfectly aligned as we (Adrienne, Linda, Lee & Syd) combined to register our highest points tally for many Moons. In what is always traditionally a very close affair, both sides registered a full house in Rd1, but whilst the visitors added 2 more maximums in Rds 2 & 3, we fell behind & would eventually trail by 5 at the break.

All was not lost, we dug in & roles were reversed in Rds 5 & 6 where we registered a massive 20 points to 10 in response from the Hounds. This turned a 5 point deficit into a 5 point lead & both sides finished an excellent game with a brace of full houses. Well played everyone, it was a crackin game, one I was glad to play a bit part & sit back & just bask in our glory!!!!

Excellent scoring all round tonight & a 52 point draw is a rare beast indeed, RBL A's excellent form being halted by a dogged Dungeon.

On any other week, 48 points would get you 2 points, but the Cricketers have rediscovered their true form & ran in comfortable winners care of the nights best tally of 59.

After last weeks shocker, the SoM's Halo had certainly slipped & they looked human afterall, but they showed no mercy in getting things back on track & when your luck isn't in, you come up against the runaway league winners, just when you are desperately seeking that elusive 1st win, hard luck, but very well played RBL B.

Its the last league game of the season next week, so as is traditional, I will conduct the draw up at the Dungeon & post the games & corresponding Handiccaps next Tuesday.
