SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
& the results are in & a major shock was on the cards, or maybe not?!%
as the rejuvenated RBL continued to Steamroll their way past all-comers & made light work of the Champions, the Shoulder of Mutton. RBL de-railed the Shoulders chances of a double & Margaret & all secured their place in the final, with an emphatic victory (who needs a handicap) over this seasons Champs. I'm not sure exactly how the scoring went, but Jason reports a series of fruitless gambles in the stick or twist secured their fate. Commiserations to the Shoulder, but it goes without saying, that the form of RBL since the turn of the year has been quite mind-boggling & they must be cursing their 2017 form, because they would be serious title contenders & looking at a potential famous double based on their 2018 performances. In almost identical scoring, the Cricketers cruised to a similarly comfortable win over the Dungeon A & secured their place in the final. The scene is set for a finely balanced contest up at the Hare & Hounds on the 9th & only a fool would gamble on the outcome, I've got a tenner on....... As the Sun sets on the 2017/18 season, it is time to reflect on the success, or otherwise of the 21 game format. I have received feedback from 2 teams, that is hasn't floated their Boats. This season was experimental & I will welcome the comments from both Captains & individuals on how well, it has or hasn't been received. Please text me on 07751551790 or e-mail me at gardnerpr@aol.com with your thoughts, all correspondence will remain private & confidential, I am merely trying to gauge opinion, its your league not mine, so please please feel free to comment. Only 2 more events to go & both require approximate numbers for catering purposes. Can all team captains please confirm attendee's for both the KO Cup Final on the 9th at the Hare & Hounds & for the Presentation night the following Monday at St Marys. I have a very narrow window of 5 days to get this years prizes/Cups engraved & it will only happen if all current Trophy holders return their Silverware back to me on the 9th. Have a good easter everybody. |
