Bury & District Quiz League Week 24

Evening All. Firstly can I thank everyone for their support last night. I'm sure it gives both teams a little boost to know so many people were interested in the outcome, of what was on paper a meeting of the leagues David & Goliath teams, albeit David's Sling being replaced by a flattering 17 point handicap.

Secondly, can I thank Ian & Peter for their excellent officiating, Peter letting the game flow & allowing common sense to prevail on the more demanding questions & finally for the excellent fayre from the H&H.

The attached scoresheet, gives a blow by blow account of the game, so no need to discet the game too much. But on reflection, we were probably surprised at the lack of higher scoring in the individual rounds, where I expected the Shoulder to punish us, when we actually drew rounds 2 & 7 with a miserly 3 points a piece.

Thanks again to the Shoulder & maybe they need to concentrate on the Cup next season & give the rest of us a chance!!!!!

I'll have around 80 questions next week, apologies now for the Music round, which some love & others hate (I HAVE DEVISED A CUNNING SCORING SYSTEM, ALL WILL BE REVEALED), so we need to be kicking off promptly at 8:30. Please get there early to settle in & buy Raffle Tickets. To prevent any unfair advantage to the early arrivals, the Answer Sheets (which includes a 25 question picture quiz) will be handed out at 8:25.

As usual, please bring along a Bottle or two, Chocolates, unwanted Xmas Presents etc, etc, all will be gratefully received.

I appreciate not everyone may be able to make it, not even with the lure of a Burnden Park Pie.......so in your absence, THANK YOU for making the 2018/19 season so enjoyable. Hopefully we will retain the same 8 teams (& maybe more??) for the 2019/20 season.
