Bury & District Quiz League Week 25

Well, all good seasons must come to an end and it is that time of the year now that the evenings are getting light for the Bury Reprographics Quiz league to say goodbye to this season and divide the spoils so to speak .
The presentation night was held at the Heap Bridge Social club home to the Phoenix nights, the evening commenced with a numerous rounds quiz enjoyed by all, the winners on the evening of a £15 prize was the Radcliffe Cricket club who scored a magnificent 104 out of 110. Second prize of £10 ,after a record number of recounts went to Rose and Crown Starling with 99 out of 110. But with everyone scoring in the nineties it seems, on the night, the second place was only a point in it.
The Trophies and mementos were presented to the winners and runners-up of the league and cup, by our sponsors'
Managing Director - Mr. Roger Bolt of Bury Reprographics Limited.
Anne Thompson representing Rose and Crown Starling collected the League Trophy and Phil Dodd received the runners up shield .
The Handicap Cup was presented to Bob Selby representing Rose and Crown Starling, and runners up medals were received by all members of the Stopes Team.
The night ended traditionally with a few words from the league secretary and then the prize draw. With an outstanding amount of prizes donated all tables had winners in there midst. First pick of the prizes went to Barry Birch of the Phoenix nights, but the luckiest person on the evening who had a decent return for his generous outlay was the legend Wally Warrington who’s winnings will keep him fed and watered throughout easter.
Grateful thanks go to Stewardess Debbie, staff and the committee of Heap Bridge Social club for hosting the final event especially Robin Glenn who worked tirelessly keeping the night running smoothly along and his wife who provided the superb hotpot supper (which many teams had been looking forward to for some time). All participating league teams and there host venues and hardworking staff to many to mention, who all contributed to an excellent very competitive and successful season many thanks to all of you.
