Bury & District Quiz League Week 3

Well we tried our damndest to scupper the Shoulders flying start to the season & after electing to go 1st, we came within a whisker of doing so. We hadn't trailed at any point during the game & indeed, at one stage we had a healthy 9 point lead in the 1st half, care of an electrifying performance from our very own Vixen, Adrienne Berger, she was on fire!!!

In the absence of a scoresheet, I am trying to recall the exact numbers, but we had a 5 point lead at the half way stage & we held our breath, as the expected comeback began to unfurl after the break. & whilst the gap was inevitably whittled away, it ultimately came down to the very last question as the Shoulder drew level & we had the Blackpool question to wrestle with & just couldn't muster The Comedy Carpet, thankfully neither could the Shoulder, so honours even in a very even matched game & well played one & all.

The wounded beast bounced back in some style & the unfortunate Dungeon felt the full force of their perfect reposte to last weeks RBL A Banana skin, with this weeks high score of 61 (how??) they are back on track & there are 3 early leaders to this seasons campaign.

The local derby saw the Hairy Hounds on the receiving end of another impressive showing from the Leg Iron A. We entertain them next week & as is the way of the world these days, they will be subject to a mandatory Drugs Test, that is before, after & during the game!!!! Unlucky Ian & Co. you are in good company & well played the Legionairres, as this result takes you to the top, reach for the Oxygen Margaret.....
