SECRETARY'S COMMENTS
|
Yet another interesting night in the Quiz league on Monday 7th October with the Coach & Horses becoming a force to contend with, who recorded their third straight win on the bounce against previously unbeaten Shoulder of Mutton who were playing their 1st game away 47-38 Radcliffe Cricket Club registered their 4th straight win at St Mary's 31-39 despite enduring difficult circumstances having to share the venue with other rowdy occupants,The most remarkable result of the night was at The Hairy Hounds, when going into the last round The Hounds trailed 29-37 with their 1st answer in the eighth round to the question what is the Monday before Ash Wednesday called? Their answer "Hash Monday!" keep taking the tablets boys & Girls! however they rallied to end drawing the match 37-37 Those Sleeping Giants that are The Stopes Tavern had a 1 point lead at half time only to lose 32-38 in favour of The Rose & Crown Starry eyes unbalanced questions are suspected for the loss! However the team of the week are The Rose & crown Ramsbottom who recorded their 1st win of season against The Royal Hotel 28-23 a low scoring match but a win is a win after all!Sorry to end on a sad note John Hill a former player with St Mary's "B" team and Whitefield Bowling Club sadly passed away last week, I am sure he will be sadly missed by all who played with him & knew him
Please keep your comments coming in no matter how daft with the scores
