Bury & District Quiz League Week 5

The Radcliffe Derby down at the Stopes Tavern is usually a closely contested affair, but alas not tonight, as the sweet smell of success from recent past seasons was alas a distant memory in tonights very one-sided affair.

It didn't bode well, when Mark from the Cricketers pulled out Eagles of Metal Death as the name of the Band playing in the Bataclan Theatre in the 2015 Paris Terrorist attack......somehow we knew the writing was on the wall!!!! Our collective ignorance of all things Downton Abbey consigned us to a big fat zero in Rd4 & our dismal form continued as we limped over the line with a meagre 23 points, as the Cricketers racked up an impressive 52, onwards & upwards!!!!

The other local derby saw the closest of affairs going against the in-form RBL A, as the Shoulder eased to an ever so slender win by 2 points, 41-43 & they breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The Dungeon are up & running & recorded a second successive win against RBL B, who by the looks of it, suffered a similar fate as us recording a meagre 21

The going was definiitely good for the Hairy Hounds, registering a very healthy 46 points against the out of sorts St Mary's.

There was a definite lack of "General" Knowledge in tonights quiz for a couple of teams, but Hey-Ho, there's always next week
