PHIL'S COMMENTS
|
This week saw some tough questions and tight contests, Champions Rose and Crown Starling came close to a second defeat against an improving Pack Horse side, with Kieran holding the Champs together against a Sue Pinder inspired Pack 45-39. Rose and Crown Ramsbottom, I quote "ineptly led by Peter" lost out against an in-form Radcliffe Cricket Club 36-43. The Rose and Crown Bury, who could be the each way bet for the league title if they string together a good run, beat the Swan A , Mavis's tonic not fizzing this week 44-24. Final result for the week and team of the week has to be Stopes Tavern, who have woken up to a first win by beating Sun Dial 44-22. A good victory which stops a feared whitewash.
Week 7 fixtures include some very important matches in terms of winning the league. Match of the week is at Radcliffe Cricket Club who host Rose Bury, Phil Dodd's men will have to be on form ,and the Rose have to win if they want to mount a challenge for the title. Swan A host Heap Bridge. Can the Swan bounce back or will the week's rest have rejuvenated Heap Bridge? A close one is perhaps on the cards. Pack Horse entertain the Swan B. With Sue's calming influence the Pack Horse may sneak a result if Swan B are still sleepy from their free week. Rose Starling visit Sun Dial. Will the Sun Dial, who have the potential, trip them up? Free week for the Rose Rammy and Stopes Tavern (just when they have hit form) this week. |
