Getting beaten by just the 1 point is the pits!!! With 5 rounds drawn, it was always going to be a close run affair, but in the final analysis, getting thumped 10-2 in Rd2 killed our game, great effort all round, Lee Sawbridge pulled out some great answers & on his form alone we hung on in there, before succumbing to the closest of defeats, well played Marcus, Adrian, Simon & Mike, 4 on the bounce, excellent form!!!
The Shoulders relentless form shows no sign of abating anytime soon & with the high score of the night (again) they were deserved winners agains their nemesis The Cricketers. RBL A are not quite hitting the dizzy heights of 3-4 weeks ago & were Bridesmaids again as the Topsy Turvy St. Mary's registered a welcome win away from home. The Hairy Hounds march on, with 2 emphatic wins their goal difference is HUGE, not that it counts for Bu**er all, but well played all the same , posting an impressive 53, leaving RBL B cursing their luck once again. Many of you will know Miriam Makin from the Hare & Hounds & numerous other incarnations of the current team over years gone by. Miriam is a long time friend & supporter of the Quiz League, going back far more years than I can remember. Miriam isn't in the best of health at present, can I take this opportunity to wish her a speedy & full recovery & send the very best wishes of everyone involved with the league & hopefully she will be back supporting the Hairy Hounds again soon. Get well soon Miriam!!! |
