Bury & District Quiz League Week 8

Normal service has been resumed, so here we go with this weeks report & in a reversal of last weeks fixtures, it wasn't a reversal in fortunes for the run-away league leaders & incumbent Champions The Shoulder of Mutton, as they suffered their 2nd loss in consecutive games, since when, a bl**dy long time ago!!
By Jasons admission, the Champs were more like Chumps this week, as they failed to re-group & collect their thoughts for a 2nd successive week & suffered the weeks heaviest defeat, by 14 points to the in-form Cricketers. Their run-away lead has vanished & thrown the title challenge wide open, as we enter the 2nd phase of the season.
Well played Phil & Co, 2 very satisfying wins, puts you firmly right back in contention & gives a ray of hope to the chasing pack.
The Hairy Hounds keep snapping at the Heels of the Top 2 & with another fine win against the Dungeon A, the Hounds keep piling on the points, along with St Mary's, who made light work of RBL, who are still in search of that elusive 1st win. Both teams are perfectly poised to pounce if the Shoulders desertion of form continues.
Stopes Roses were looking to avenge last weeks no-show & when trailing by 8 points after 3 rounds, it wasn't looking likely.
A stinker of a 1st question to the Dungeon left them drawing a blank in the Stick or Twist & we managed to reduce the deficit to 6 at half time
In a complete turnaround in the second half, the Stopes went absolutely ballistic & over the next 4 rounds piled on 34 points, to the Dungeons 17 & amassed a very respectable 46 points to 37 win, when it was initially looking like another bad day in the office during the early rounds.
The Dungeon Lads are always excellent company & a steady flow of cringe-worthy jokes from their Cpt. Pete made the defeat almost bearable.
