Bury & District Quiz League Xmas Quiz Week

Into St. Mary’s the quiz teams spilled
With Raffle prizes, a table rapidly filled.
The questions were set over a year ago
But had remained virginal due to the snow.
It was Pantomime time, but no mention of Cinders
But as always centre stage, we had The Pinders.
Mike and Sue then took turns, the questions to read
And their Pack Horse team claimed an early lead.
Though winning could give you fortune and fame
The Stopes Tavern Boys paper never had a name.
The night whizzed on, questions flying by
People well filled with some great tater pie.
Rose Rammy as usual sold tickets for the raffle
More questions were asked, with some that baffle.
Pictures were peered over, some harder to see
But the Roman goddess seemed Greek to me.
With all rounds totalled, the winners to anoint
A Cricket score from Ramsbottom, who’d won by a point.
There were two second places for the smart and the barmy
The Pack Horse were caught by the Hare and Hounds Army.
The night was over, teams put to the test
And all that remained was to wish Phil “All The Best!”
